VET ONLY PRODUCT - S-Adenosylmethionine to support dogs and cats with impaired liver function
COMPOSITION
Tablets for Cats and Small Dogs. S-Adenosylmethionine 90 mg per tablet Tablets for Medium Dogs. S-Adenosylmethionine 225 mg per tablet Tablets for Large Dogs. S-Adenosylmethionine 425 mg per tablet
Actions
S-Adenosylmethionine increases hepatocyte and erythrocyte intracellular glutathione levels in cats and dogs. Glutathione is a potent antioxidant that protects the liver from toxins and death. Low liver glutathione concentrations are common in dogs and cats with decreased liver function. Administration of S-Adenosylmethionine may improve glutathione levels in liver cells to help maintain and protect liver function. S-Adenosylmethionine may also be used in other areas of tissue oxidant injury and red blood cell fragility caused by certain toxins or drugs which are related to reduced glutathione concentrations. S-Adenosylmethionine also protects liver cells from cell death and may be useful in cell regeneration. S-Adenosylmethionine may also improve bile flow in cats.
Indications
Liver support for dogs and cats with impaired liver functioning to aid liver detoxification mechanisms.

Daily administration is based on 20 mg of S-adenosylmethionine / kg bodyweight. Tablets (90 mg) for Cats & Small Dogs - Up to 5.9 kg bodyweight : 1 tablet Tablets (225 mg) for Medium Dogs - 6 to 15.9 kg : 1 tablet; 16 to 29.9 kg : 2 tablets (or 1 large (425 mg) tablet) Tablets (425 mg) for Large Dogs - 16 to 29.9 kg : 1 tablet (or 2 medium (225 mg) tablets); 30 to 54.9 kg : 2 tablets; Over 55 kg : 3 tablets For optimal absorption, give tablets on an empty stomach, at least one hour before feeding. Administer a few millilitres of water immediately following any tablet administration to speed passage of the tablet into the stomach. For those owners who have difficulty administering tablets to their pets, Denosyl Tablets may be disguised in a small bite of food. The number of tablets can be gradually reduced or increased at any time depending on the pet’s needs. When increasing or decreasing the dose adjustments should be done in full tablet increments. Many pets are maintained long-term on every-other-day or every-third-day administration.
