Each 2.5 g of JOINT GUARD Powder for Cats contains:
Glucosamin Hydrochloride 500 mg
Purified Sodium Chondroitin Sulphate 400 mg
Also contains MSM, manganese gluconate, calcium ascorbate
(Vit C), zinc, copper, vitamin E
One scoop contains 625 mg of powder.

JOINT GUARD helps prevent cartilage degeneration by supplying all critical components on a daily basis. This is a chondroprotective (joint protective) effect. It is formulated for regular, in-feed administration.
Reasearch trails on combinations of Glucosamin, Chondroitin, Manganese and Vitamin C report a significant synery between these componants, and a condroprotective effect, as well as a mild anit-inflammatory effect following regular administration. The essential companants in JOINT GUARD serve to both reduce cartilage degeneration, and stimulate production of healthy cartilage matrix.
Glucosamine hydrochloride - stimulates formation of both synovial (joint) fluid and the cartilage matrix,
Chondroitin sulfate - provides protection from the enzymes which break down cartilage, and is the major component in cartilage,

| Dosage and Administration |
| JOINT GUARD for Cats is given daily with each meal, dosed according to weight. Each scoop contains 625 mg of powder. It can be given to young animals at a low daily maintenance dose for a regular protective effect, or at a higher daily dose for animals experiencing existing cartilage damage:

daily | It is necessary to initiate treatment at double the maintenance dose in order to "load up" the body with therapeutic levels of the active ingredients, generally for the first 4 - 6 weeks. At this point, the dose can gradually be reduced over time to find the lowest possible amount that will keep the cat comfortable.
